Where did the idea for UKAS Alliance come from?
Barry Dass and the team at Davenport Solicitors, a specialist employment and business immigration law firm based in central London, have spent over a decade helping a large number of overseas businesses set up and grow their operations in the UK. During this time, Barry and the team observed that it wasn’t just the services of the employment law and
business immigration experts at Davenport Solicitors such business required, but also the services offered by other legal firms and their extensive network of professional partners.
With the objective of expanding this network further and the goal of working with SME partners across the globe to deliver a first-class service to SME international businesses looking to expand in the UK as well as UK organisations wishing to expand their operations overseas, UKAS Alliance was born.
As UKAS Alliance members are dedicated to building quality relationships between independent firms with similar standards of excellence, they can confidently refer their clients to like-minded firms they can trust.
Member in the Spotlight: Barry Dass
Our founding member, Barry Dass is head of UK Advisory Services at Davenport Solicitors and Managing Director Davenport HR. Barry started his working career when he was 16 years of age, joining his father’s garment manufacturing business in the east end of London. He soon went on to grow the business and successfully established a number of fashion businesses, in the retail and wholesale sector.
Barry has over 40 years of experience in establishing and successfully operating businesses in the fashion, and professional services sectors with operations across the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, India, Russia, and the USA.
Using his extensive business network built up over many years, Barry founded UKAS Alliance, to support ambitious global entrepreneurs and organisations who wish to access the UK’s world-class ecosystem to help accelerate their growth and with a mission to make the process of setting up and growing international businesses smooth and stress-free.
Barry is a Mentor, Angel Investor, and a member of TIE London Chapter member, Vice President of the UK Asia Business Council, and member of the London Chamber of Commerce and industry.
